My final idea would be to play as a daimyo in Japan, become the Shogun, and colonize Indonesia and whatever I can in the Americas. I would also try and create a powerful colonial empire in North America. My plan here would be to form Scandinavia and maybe conquer the British Isles. I've never played in Northern Europe before, and heard that they added some interesting new mechanics recently. However, I'm a bit worried that this will be too difficult for me, and just result in frustration.ДЄnother idea I had was to play as Sweden. I would also colonize a ton in the Carribean and other lucrative areas in the Americas. Basically, I would work on forming Andalusia and conquering the Maghreb, but not expanding into Europe too much with the exception of Sicily.

At the same time, I don't really want to choose a nation that would be too difficult, as I'm rusty and was never a great player in the first place. I've already played a game as Spain and Great Britain in the past, and was hoping for something a bit more unconventional anyways. Not a pure colonizer game where I'd never expand at home and just develop my provinces, but rather one where I expand a little and have a large colonial empire.
